    Healthy weight loss tips
    * Take one pound at a time
    Don’t get overwhelmed by how much weight you need to lose. Try to remember that “losing 15 pounds in two weeks” is nothing to celebrate. It is important to realize that the more quickly weight is lost, the more likely the loss is coming from water and muscle, not fat.
    Since muscle tissue is critical in keeping our metabolism elevated, losing it actually leads to a decrease in the amount of calories we can each day without gaining weight.
    Fat loss is best achieved when weight is lost slowly. Strive for a weight loss of no more than 3-4 pounds per week. One pound of weight is equivalent to 3500 calories.
    * Set Reachable Goals
    For instance, if you know you need to get more exercise, begin with a manageable goal of, say, walking 10 minutes a day that you know you can achieve. Then build your self-esteem by achieving the small goals you set yourself.
    The same logic applies for losing weight.
    * Stay off the scales
    Don’t get discouraged when your progress seems to be slow according to your bathroom scales. They do not provide a true measure of what is going on with the body.
    If exercise levels are adequate (5-7 days a week), you may be putting on muscle but losing fat, thus losing inches even if you are not losing pounds. It’s always a good idea to do several body measurements to have a second objective way to monitor progress.
    * Stay focused on being healthy, not thin
    # Many people become more successful at long term weight loss when their motive changes from wanting to be thinner to wanting to be healthier. Change your mindset to think about selecting foods that will help your body’s health rather than worrying about foods that will affect your body’s weight. The Food Pyramid offers a basic outline of the types and amounts of food you should eat each day to give your body the nutrients it needs for optimal health.
    * Fat Free?
    We’ve known for some time that limiting high fat foods in the diet can be helpful with weight loss. That’s because fats pack in 9 calories per gram compared to only 4 calories per gram from proteins or carbohydrates. To many, the message to limit fats implied an endorsement to eat unlimited amounts of fat-free products. Just to clarify, fat-free foods have calories too. In some cases fat-free foods have as many calories as their fat laden counterparts. If you eat more calories than your body uses, you will gain weight. Eating less fat will help you to lose weight. Eating less fat and replacing it with excessive amounts of fat-free products will not.
    * Drink plenty of water
    Drink eight glasses a day. Water is a natural appetite-suppressant. Nettle tea is a great weight-loss tea as it supports metabolism and has diuretic properties.
    * Reward yourself
    # Each time you reach a goal, such as losing 5 pounds, reward yourself with a gift or a massage.
    * Seek help if you need it
    # A big key in long term weight control comes from receiving encouragement and support from others. Find a friend to lose weight with or you can check to see if groups such as Weight Watchers, or eDiets offer programs and resources in your area by clicking the links. You may also wish to check with your local hospital to see if their registered dietician conducts group weight loss programs.
    * Watch your portions
    With the advent of “supersize” meals and increasingly huge portions at restaurants, our concept of normal serving sizes is a distant memory. Be mindful of the amounts of food you consume at a sitting. When necessary, divide your food in half and ask for a take home bag. It is all too easy to be a “plate cleaner” even when served enormous portions. Learn to pay attention to your hunger level and stop eating when you feel comfortably full, not stuffed.
    * Eat your food slowly
    Did you ever notice that thin people take an awfully long time to eat their food? Eating slowly is one method that can help take off pounds. That’s because from the time you begin eating it takes the brain 20 minutes to start signaling feelings of fullness. Fast eaters often eat beyond their true level of fullness before the 20 minute signal has had a chance to set in. The amount of calories consumed before you begin to feel full can vary significantly depending on how quickly you eat. So slow down, take smaller bites and enjoy your food.

    There are no tricks to weight loss. A dose of good old common sense is the best thing. There are lots of benefits to EGCG, the antioxidant in green tea. Sounds like you’re off to a good start. Do keep in mind that too much of a good thing is not a good thing. Keep moving and hydrating! Good luck!!

    Hi…
    You mentioned that you use “hoodia green tea patches”. You seem to think that patches or weight loss pills are the answer to weight loss.
    You also ask if we know of any good way for you to lose weight. This takes quite a bit of explaining…
    I will include an article I wrote recently – then I will include a link to even more free articles that will address your question in more detail. Fair enough?
    Here’s the article:
    “Do You Need Any Pills In Order To Lose Weight?”
    Here’s my view on the subject:
    Many people believe that taking a pill will solve all their weight loss problems. They buy the latest “miracle drug” or “miracle supplement” and they expect that to help them lose weight without lifting a finger. This approach doesn’t work. How many times have you taken such a pill and you lost weight and kept it off without eating properly or exercising?
    What’s that? Never? So I thought. I rest my case…
    If you want to lose weight, the first things you need to get down are your nutrition and exercise program. AFTER you are drinking a lot of water, eating six balanced meals a day and exercising should you even consider anything additional as a means to complete your approach.
    I have used several fat loss supplements in the past. Some of them worked, some didn’t. Different ones will work for different people so I can’t recommend any specific brand at this point. In any case, don’t expect to “lose 40 pounds of fat in 2 short weeks” – I don’t care what the advertisements in the fitness magazines say.
    Buying and using a fat-loss supplement may help in another way that most people don’t think of: When you think you have purchased the best fat loss supplement in the world, then you also tend to make better nutrition decisions and stick to your exercise program. You say “Ok, I have paid money for this product: I may as well pay attention to my nutrition and exercise program so that I get the most bang for my buck”. Using a fat loss product can give you that much more assurance that you are “firing on all cylinders”.
    But again: This is the last thing you need to worry about. People were losing weight and looking great ages before the first fat loss supplement was even commercially available…

    Your first trick is the treadmill, and your second is your diet. Sorry, but it does not go away with tricks, and I am saying with experience. Only persistance and hard work. But the good news is that anyone can do it, if they really want to. Don’t believe those who say that they did everything they could but still did not loose weight, unless they have a medical problem of course. Usually those are the midnight snackers, for example. Good luck.

    yahoo search the “3 day diet” its designed for heart patients you will lode 10 pounds in 3 days but you will be meserable….

  13. al on January 28th, 2010 at 12:37 am

    Try this for a start, and then go on to a healthy lifestyle, well balanced diet and regular exercise. This will work….
    BASIC FAT BURNING SOUP
    6 large green onions 2 green peppers
    1 or 2 cans of tomatoes [crushed] 1/2 bunch of celery
    1 large head of cabbage 1 pkg. Lipton onion soup
    4 cups of water
    Season with 1/4 tsp. salt, 1 tsp. pepper, 1/4 tsp. curry, 1 Tbsp. parsley, if desired or bouillon or hot sauce. Cut vegetables in small to medium pieces and cover with water. Boil fast for ten minutes. Reduce to simmer and continue cooking until vegetables are tender. This soup can be eaten anytime you are hungry. Eat as much as you want, whenever you want. This soup will not add calories. The more you eat the more you will lose. Fill a thermos in the morning if you will be away during the day. If eaten for indefinite periods you would suffer malnutrition.
    ======================================…
    DAY ONE: All fruits except bananas. Cantaloupe and watermelon are lower in calories than most fruits. Eat only the soup and fruits. For drinks; unsweetened tea, cranberry juice, or water.
    DAY TWO: All vegetables. Eat until you are stuffed with all the fresh, raw, or canned vegetables. Try to eat green leafy veggies and stay away from dry beans, peas, and corn. Eat along with the soup. At dinner time on this day, reward yourself with a big baked potato and butter. Do not eat any fruits.
    DAY THREE: Eat all the soup, fruits, and vegetables you want. Do not have a baked potato. If you have eaten for three days as above, and have not cheated, you will have lost 5 to 7 pounds.
    DAY FOUR: Bananas and skim milk. Eat as many as 8 bananas and drink as many glasses of water as you can on this day along with the soup. Bananas are high in calories and carbohydrates and so is the milk, but on this particular day your body will need the potassium and
    the carbohydrates, proteins and calcium to lessen your craving for sweets.
    DAY FIVE: Beef and tomatoes. You may have 10 to 20 ounces of beef and a can of tomatoes or as many as 6 fresh tomatoes on this day. Try to drink at least 6 to 8 glasses of water
    this day to wash away the acid in your body. Eat the soup at least once this day.
    DAY SIX: Beef and veggies. Eat to your heart’s content of the beef and vegetables this day. You can even have two or three steaks if you like with the green leafy vegetables, but no baked potato. be sure and eat the soup.
    DAY SEVEN: Brown rice, unsweetened fruit juices and vegetables. Again, stuff yourself. Be sure to have the soup at least once today.
    At the end of the seventh day, if you have not cheated on the above diet, you will have lost 10 to 17 pounds. If you have lost more than 17 pounds, stay off the diet for two days before resuming again from day one.
    This seven day eating plan can be used as often as you like. As a matter of fact, if correctly followed, it will clean your system of impurities and give you a feeling of well-being as never before.
    After only seven days of this process, you will begin to feel lighter by at least 10 and possibly 17 pounds, having an abundance of energy. Continue this plan as long as you wish and feel the difference.
    This diet is fast, fat-burning, and the secret is that you will burn more calories than you take in. It will flush your system of impurities and give you a feeling of well-being. This diet does not lend itself to drinking any alcoholic beveragesat any time because of the removal of fat build-up in your system. Go off the diet at least 24 hours before any intake of alcohol.
    Because everyone’s digestive system is different, this diet will affect everyone differently. After day three, you will have more energy than when you began, if you did not cheat. After
    being on this diet for several days, you will find your bowel movements have changed. Although you can have black coffee with this diet, you may find that you don’t need the caffeine after the third day.
    DEFINITE NO-NO’S: Fried foods, bread, alcohol, no carbonated drinks, including diet drinks. stick with water, unsweetened tea, black coffee, unsweetened fruit juices, cranberry juice, and skim milk. If you prefer, you can substitute broiled fish or baked chicken {skinless} for the beef on only one of the beef days. You need the high protein in the beef the other day.
    The Basic Fat Burning Soup can be eaten anytime you feel hungry. Eat as much as you wish. Remember, the more you eat, the more you will lose. Continue this plan as long as you wish and feel the difference both physically and mentally.
    Any prescribed medication will not hurt you on this diet.

    its hard to loose weight when you see the food that you like on tv, expecially ice cream. everyone loves ice cream, right? we all have this frickin sweet tooth that totally kills. eat a piece of dark or milk chocolate once a day to replace that sweet tooth. eating dark chocolate is good for your heart circulation too.
    also, eat more meals but less portions. like have:
    breakfast
    small snack
    lunch
    afternoon snack
    dinner
    cup of milk if ur really hungry before u go to bed
    but with each meal, have half the portion that you usually have.

    The first thing to remember is that everyone who eats is on a diet. What your diet consists of is the key to losing weight.
    Actually, you can eat anything you want. You just have to learn moderation. If you count calories and restrict your diet, you will be miserable and fall off the wagon and gain back more weight than you lost. You know already that eating till you puke is wrong, but you do it anyway. The trick is to think when you eat.
    Look at your plate and ask yourself if normal people eat this much. Give yourself a normal helping of whatever you want (you know what a normal helping is), and eat 3/4 of it.
    Stop eating before you feel full. It takes fifteen minutes for your brain to realize that your full. If you eat a normal serving of food and wait fifteen minutes, you won’t feel deprived by not getting more.
    If you’re the type that gets a regular helping and then gets two more regular helpings, waiting will allow your brain to catch up to your stomach. How much more food could you eat in fifteen minutes? A lot.
    If you need to lose 150 pounds to be at your optimal weight, then expect it to take two years to get there. If you lose weight too fast, you will feel deprived and, again, fall off the wagon. If you change how you look at food, you can change your life without even noticing.
    BTW, excercise is critical, too. Even parking farther away from the store will cause you to lose weight if you change your attitude towards food.

    Limit these foods to 1-2 days a week: cheese, sodas, sweet treats, fried foods, fast foods.
    Cut your portions in half at night and no eating after 7:00-7:30 pm
    Eat fruits and veggies
    Eat everything wheat even noodles
    Eat yogurts
    Eat breakfast, a good lunch and a lite dinner
    Exercise!
    Exercise for a minimum of 30 minutes, as your body doesn’t burn fat until 20 minutes into your workout
    Care what you eat
    Work out hard and make it count!

    Those things you stated are good, as well as making sure that you are constantly flushing your system out with a gentle laxative preferably something natural at the end of the day. In most peoples body we have OVER fifteen pounds of waste sitting in or digestive systems. So IN ADDITION to proper exercise and diet make sure you are helping your body get rid of the unwanted waste and parasites that maybe inside of you.
    Also what is very important as well is making sure that your environment is one that is harmony with what you are trying to accomplish. In other words don’t put yourself in any situation where you may end up cheating or being tempted, that means planning properly to make that you are not out around food when you are hungry or that that you have an alternative n those situations. If you fail to plan, the plan on failing. That includes reading about what it is that you are trying to accomplish, other peoples experiences, the science of weight loss really get into it, all that directed thought should come through in your actions.

    Do no less than 30 minutes of exercise each day. Get in a pool and swim to tone up all over. Also, walk laps in the water…..takes the stress off of your knees.
    Start lifting weights. Make more muscle, it will burn the fat.
    Eat right, drink LOTS of water. No sugar, soda, or juices.

    Don’t eat so much. I’m skinny because I choose not to eat everything in site. Water is good. You need to eat three healthy meals a day. Do not overindulge.
