Google Basal Metabolic Rate… that should get you started – I don’t know how active you are, so I can’t really give you a calorie range. There are online calculators that can help you figure this out. Try WebMD – that’s a favorite site of mine, and free.
You seem to have a reasonable starting goal, and have the basics of a plan in place (calorie counting)… that’s great! It’s more than most people have. Make sure you get a form of support. Weight loss is not just about eating less and exercising – it can be a very emotional experience too.

hmmm exercise start by walking and joggin once a day like jog for a but and when you get tired rest
i did this personally i wat at about 200lbs i think like 197
so i decided to loose weight and i’m only 5′5-6 not sure
but walking and jogging as much as you can
then try and step it up little by little
i did this and lost over 50 lbs
dont lift weights youll only put on weight that way
at first you will loose alot of weight cause ur body has to work harder cause it moves alot more
but thats why u step it up
and then youll notice the difference.. ok good luck
this best thing about this meaning joggin is it’s not focused on one ares so youll loose weight all around and look smaller
    which is good…

Generally, a pound equals 3500 calories. So therefore, if you can cut 500 calories from your diet daily for a week, you would lose one pound. However, this does not include the fact that as your body gets used to exercises and as you lose weight, you burn less calories.
Depending on your diet, the calories you eat may differ. From my calculations (see below), I think you need to consume about 2000 calories a day to maintain your weight.. but if you already eat over that much, then you would stick to 2000 calories. You may decrease that if you want, but you should not go under 1200 calories; that is a huge deficiency and you put yourself at risk of gaining back weight once you eat a little over 1200.
Work out at least 3 times a week, be that running, walking, jogging, sports, or swimming, for 30 minutes or more. Increase the duration as time goes by. Running at 5.2 speed, for me, burns about 70+ calories per 15 minutes. Depending on your weight, this may burn more. All of these are good exercises to keep your blood pumping. Tennis and Badminton are also good sports for using your legs and arms. Then, change your diet. Eat more for breakfast, a little less for lunch, and dinner shuold be somewhat light. You need most of your energy before dinner, anyway, unless you plan on exercising after.
Be sure not to deprive yourself of nutrients like protein and iron.
