A Question About Diets And Green Tea?

I’ve heard that when you’re trying to lose weight, you should only drink green tea and water. So I was looking at the back of a green tea bottle the other day and it turns out that it had more calories than my friend’s regular soda. Whats the deal?

    Uhm, idk what kind of bottle youre looking at (Arizona?) but you should drink REAL green tea. I.e. the ones you buy in tea bags and put in hot water. Those have 0 (ZERO) calories, sodium, fat, etc and actually BURN fat (they say 5 a day burns 80 calories).

    green tea when prepared as putting tea leaves in a pot and adding boiling water is good for you in the context of losing weight as it raises your metabolic level. how many pounds you will actually lose while drinking green tea is hard to say but it can be beneficial when combined with the right diet and exercise.
    however, the problem with many green tea drinks that come in bottled form is that a lot of sugar is added to it. have you noticed how sweet it tastes? green tea naturally does not taste anything like that, and the problem with many of the companies that produce the green tea drinks is that they believe people will only like drinks that are really sweet tasting (also helps from a sales point of view because the sugar will get you hooked on it).

    i bet that “green tea” drink has lots of sugar in it too? well, there are drinks out there that has green tea in it with a lot of other stuff like high fructose corn syrup, sodium. the best way is to drink the hot green tea in a tea bag. buy a box of green tea bags (they have green tea with million other flavors with green tea) and get some hot water in a cup and make yourself cups of hot green tea. relaxing after a long day.

    Well, it was probably becuase this is green tea you buy in like vending machines, and those are LOADED with sugar. You have to brew it yourself, and not add so much sugar… to get positive benefits from green tea. Anyways, green tea does not make you lose weight itself, it just boosts your metabolism the slightest bit.

    I do believe when the say green tea they mean the hot one not the ice one. Which one where u drinking? The bottled one tastes nice but is really sweet and it has a lot of sugar and would not be recommended to lose weight. If u drink the green tea that comes in tea bags, that is good and will raise your daily metabolism and will help you lose weight, although not much. Hope this helps xD
