Is Running Really The Best Exercise To Lose Weight?

Most people say running helps you lose weight more than any other regular exercises. Is that true? But they also say it trains your muscles more than any other exercises… And that’s exactly what I’m afraid of… I don’t want under any circumstances to get muscles!!! All I want is to lose weight without adding muscles to my body!

    You will not get huge muscles from running, running is great cardio up there with swimming it is probably one of the best forms of cardio.
    In running there is no resistance so you will not gain muscle doing running alone you will burn lots of calories and fat but to gain or add muscle you will need to add a form of strength training (weights/resistance).

    You don’t want to “get muscles” (which you already have) because you don’t want to look big, and looking big might make you look fat? I’d rather look big from taking care of myself and being active than being fat from ingesting junk and sitting on the sofa all day.
    The best exercise is what you like to do. If you don’t like running, but prefer the slower, relaxed pace of walking, then walk. I like to walk, but I don’t do it. The past couple of days my husband and I went walking with our 11-month-old daughter in the stroller. I hadn’t realized how much I missed it. The relaxing part, the talking and the way I felt when I’m done. (I also miss yoga, but I can’t pick that up again any time soon.)
    Do what is best for you.

    running is the best work out ever! it could be extremely boring so just find a hiking trail or somewhere you can jogg around with someone. running burns off all types of fat, and when ur ready to tone, then you do weights that will give you firm body and or muscle, dont worry about all that other nonesense, just run atleast 1 hr a day like 5 times a week and eat healthy and watch in about 3 to 4 month syou will see a great big difference or depending onyou size now

    Any kind of cardio workout will build muscle. I think what you’re looking for is lean muscles, not bulk. In that case running is great. As long as you aren’t lifting weights or pushing your muscles into fatigue, you’re fine. Just keep that heart rate up and you’ll shed weight.

    aha , you should LAUGH . laughing burns lots of calories (: uhh , i think swimming is the best excersize to lose weight , but it gives you shoulder muscles . i think you should stick with running .
