What Can I Do To Help Me Lose More Weight Before Running?

I’m about to run on the treadmill (Probably 4 miles)
Ive heard that there are things to do before running (or exercising in general) that help you to lose more weight.
What are these things?
Ex…
Drink water before instead of during running?
Drink some water before and some during running?
Eat right before running?
Eat a few hours before running?
Basically anything you know that would help…
