If I Walk 30 Minutes Day, Every Day Of The Week, Will I Lose Weight?
I’ve been trying to lose some weight because I have a bit of a pudgy stomach and thick thighs. I’m 5′7 and I weight 124 and I’m almost 14 in two months, but I want to lose weight the healthy way. If I eat healthy, drink lots of water, and walk 30 minutes a day everyday of the week for two months, will I lose weight? If so how much? (an estimate is fine). What else should I be doing to lose it? Thanks, and please don’t tell me I don’t need to lose weight.
I can’t imagine you are pudgy at 124 pounds, and 5′7… you certainly aren’t overweight.
I would suggest you do the things you listed above, simply because it is good for your health. You may lose weight, you may not… depends on how much you are eating vs. what you are burning off.
3500 calories = 1 pound. I don’t recommend you try to lose a lot of weight. You really shouldn’t. If you want to shape up, walking, biking, swimming… these are all good exercises. Just make sure you are taking plenty of protein to feed your muscles.
yes, you’ll lose weight eventually (if you don’t increase your food intake). warning- you may actually gain a few pounds at first as you build muscle- but don’t panic- muscle actually weights more than fat AND will help you burn calories faster.
make sure you’re drinking plenty of water (avoid pop and other drinks containing sugar like the plague!) sorry, can’t tell how much you’ll lose- everyone’s different. and please remember- we women are SUPPOSED to have a layer of fat on our thighs and tummies, but it never hurts to firm up your muscles and work your cardio-vascular system!
Basically, the way to lose weight is to make sure that your caloric output is greater than your intake. So, increasing your activity level and watching what you eat may be enough. Walking is a good, low-impact activity. That alone, however, may not guarantee you will lose weight.
