Which Foods Are Best To Order From These Fast Food Places When Trying To Lose Weight?

I’m trying to lose weight. However I don’t have enough time to prepare food to take with me to work. Where I work, there is a subway, McDonalds, and food court with different chains of chinese and italian food. What are some healthy meals I could order?

Many of these restaurants now have low-carb and low calorie meals, like grilled chicken or salads. But your best bet would to make the meal ahead of time, say before you go to bed.
addition: Breakfast could consist of fruit and oatmeal. Sprinkle some cinnamon onto your oatmeal…very heart health conscious.
Do you eat lunch at work or dinner? Lunch could be a chicken salad on a bed of lettuce. Grilled chicken and fresh fruit.
A good place to look for recipes is on Yahoo Foods!. My husband and I recently changed our diet and we get alot of recipes from there. The recipes get broken down into how many fat grams, carbs, fibers, and sugars. If you want to eat something with sugars, our doctor said to find a food that has higher fiber content than sugar content. They are out there, but label reading is a must.
good luck and don’t give up! Don’t starve yourself either. We have been doing this for 4 months now, and we really like it. We cut out fast food and ordering pizza. It can be tough, but once you stick with it, you will realize that you feel a whole lot better! (And if you go out to eat, you’ll find that you can’t eat as much!–that’s a good thing!) Eat in moderation and don’t punish yourself! Make it fun!

For chinese food you could get stir-fryed veggies with tofu and noodles.
Subway pretty much speaks for itself.
McD’s I would avoid but probably some salad and water…?
I’m not sure about Italian food…

McDonalds has really yummy Salads and fruit and yogurt parfaits. I always get the chicken blt salad with basalmic vinagrette and a fruit and yogurt parfait.. sure.. the salad has a little bit of bacon.. but besides that its a really low calorie and yummy meal.
Subway you can get a 6 inch turkey sandwiche.. i always just choose either cheese or light mayo though… not both. They also have lowfat honey mustard and some other light toppings. Just no greasy stuff!

Alot of people are saying McDonalds. So I want to put what Weight Watchers suggests for a adult meal if you do have to eat there..
1 Hamburger with mustard only. ( Nothing else.)
1/2 of a kids size fry.
1 Kids Size Cola (Diet) or Water
And with this small meal. You have to adjust your fat and calories for the whole day because if your dont you wont have enough left to keep you from being hungery. Which is very odd cause on Weight Watchers you almost allways feel like you couldnt eat another thing.

A good thing to do is go to your local weight watchers. They sell a book called the fast food companion. In there they have nutrition information from all the major food chains and even have sample meals and tell you the calories and fat in them. I know for a fact the Mac’ D hamburgers are not too bad 9 grams of fat for one ( cheese burgers are like 12 grams). Also a strawberry sun day from there is 6 grams of fat ( 9 if you add nuts) and around 240 calories. The fried chicken and fish are horrible, also stay away from Chinese food a normal serving of something that is in a brown sauce is over 1,000 calories!. If you don’t want to buy the books you can go the the web sites of the places and look up the nutritional information., but I will suggest to cook as much as possible you will save yourself a lot of calories and money.

You have a few options. If you MUST go to a fast food place, I would try subway with lots of veggies on your sub. Turkey is a pretty healthy meat to put on there too. I would try to stear clear of the other ones, but the biggest thing in going to any of them is PORTION CONTROL. If you go to McDonalds, get things in a “small”. At subway, get a 6 inch and no larger. At the other places, perhaps have them put 2/3 in a take-away box and the rest on a plate for you to eat.
Your other option is to pack lunch the night before and keep it in a cooler the next day. You will lose weight phenomenally faster if you do this. If losing weight is a priority, you need to set aside time to do things like this.

Mickey D’s salads are ok for you, just make sure you order with grilled chicken, low-fat dressing, and you don’t eat the croutons (or tortilla strips on the southwest salad). You can also order plain chicken breast (BK’s is better in my opinion, though) and a side salad. BK also has a veggie burger option, which is way better for you than the traditional beef patties, and tastes pretty good. The only thing you’re really safe with from Chinese restaurants is steamed veggies, and brown rice if it’s available. Add a bit of soy sauce and chili sauce to your veggies and they’re pretty tasty. As advertised, Subway’s six-inch subs with no mayo or cheese are really healthy, and when you pair it with their healthier sides and drinks it makes a nice lunch. Just remember low-fat doesn’t automatically mean low-calorie, veggies don’t always mean 100% healthy, and starving yourself will only make it harder to lose weight because your body will go into starvation mode. Good luck!

Italian would be the best….salads with oil and vinegar. Tomato sauce is very good for you too. The Subway veggie sub is ok…depending on the cheese and condiments you add (ie. no mayo)….and McDonalds…they have salads too, and the chicken sandwiches are ok.
Drink water instead of soda….even diet soda.

Not a lot of choice out there. Even the salads at McDonald’s have lots of fat grams. You could have your own fat free dressing in a fridge at work and grab a salad from there, though. No Italian…too much bread! Chinese…still alot of fat. Try an all veggie meal and ask about fat grams, etc.
