Does Drinking Green Tea Helps You Lose Weight?

If i drink only green tea and water every day and eat very little food like only fruits and veggies, and a little rice and not exercise at all can i lose 25 pounds fast?? In like 3 months?

    Definitely. Tea won’t make much of a difference, but if you exercise a lot, and eat little, then you can healthily lose 2 lbs a week.

    A chemical found in ordinary green tea, epigallocatechin gallate, may offer a bit of weight loss magic.
    The proposed mechanism for green tea’s calorie-burning properties lies in the ability of epigallocatechin gallate to increase thermogenesis, or heat production, by influencing enzymes in the metabolic process.
    This doesn’t necessarily mean that you will feel hot after drinking green tea. Rather it means that epigallocatechin gallate seems to increase the amount of calories burned throughout the day for all activities, from digesting food to climbing stairs to typing.
    Other food components, like caffeine or capsaicin (in hot peppers) can boost calorie burning, but epigallocatechin gallate has a stronger effect.
    However, the effect is not likely to melt pounds off overnight.

    You probably could, but this isn’t the best thing you could do to lose 25 pounds. I know you don’t want to hear anything like “don’t starve yourself” or “You need exercise” But its true. Yes Green Tea is in fact REALLY good for your body but Starving yourself with little fruits, veggies, and rice is not how you want to lose any weight. The drinking only water and Green Tea part is fine, thats pretty much all the liquids you need, but you need to make sure you get all the vitamins and minerals you need from food, which is why just eating veggies, rice and fruits is not good for you. You need to exercise, and the best exercise i found was cardiovascular work-outs. It really pumps up your heart, which makes your metabolism get faster. Just to 15-30 minutes of cardio every other day, watch those “fatty” foods or foods with loads or calories that you eat and you should see results in as little as 1 week.     You can lose 10 pounds quickly, because of it being just water weight.
    After this first 10, it can get pretty difficult. Hear are some health flags; don’t stop drinking water, and don’t stop eating your basic 5 food groups. Eating in moderation is always recommended, split up your meal in half by eating 6 times a day, rather than 3 times. Don’t skip breakfast, for to keep your weight down your body needs to know that it is not starving.
    Do not eat fast food, and when cooking use garlic, and olive oil. These will contribute to your health by regulating your metabolism, and raise your immune system.
    Drinking green tea is good, not too much, as you would with any food consumption. Green tea is an antioxidant, and can help with the toxins within your body, too much will make you sick by removing healthy stuff from your body.
    I am a man who is 165 pounds, and I am 5 foot 8 in. tall, 44 years old, and everyone in my family has a weight problem. The key is eating healthy, and not eating alot at one time, don’t drink alcohol, and sodas, and you will live to be physically healthy, and lose weight at the same time.
    Oh yea take walks, and enjoy the life that is around you.

    Yes, it helps, but you still need to get on the right weight loss program.

    It’s possible since you will hardly be eating but if you exercise you can eat more and then most likely you will lose those 25 lbs in 3 months. So if you can workout. Green tea burns calories so get your heart rate up with exercise and burn the calories at a faster pace.
