Imagine a really hot guy’s voice getting louder and louder, and he’s telling you to not-eat the food.

Keep your mind on foods that are good for you, and do not go near restaurants and supermarket processed food areas, stay in the pasta section instead. View food as by its real function, as a means by which you refuel your system. To that end, for at least one “dinner” for the day, have about 1 to 2 cups of cereal like oatmeal, with say raspberries or strawberries, and 3 tbsps of sugar ( sugar is not bad for you) all mixed together with icy water in a blender, as a shake. This will keep you feeling full for hours. Throughout the day, drink tea, with whitener and sugar if you like, tea dampens ones appetite for junk food, and it has less caffeine than coffee. Have the food as fuel, not entertainment attitude, and you will be sure to see a return to your old self. Good Luck.

Everyone likes eating, and it’s difficult not to. Dieting is hard because you can’t resist the deliciousness of it, and for me, cookies are a favorite of mine. When my mom buys a pack at the grocery store, I counted how many there are. I think it was 30. So I would break that amount into fractions so that I wouldn’t eat to much in one day, and then I’d put them into some ziplock bags and label them Monday, Tuesday, etc. To resist food, a good idea might be to put the food you want to eat (don’t forget to count calories, you want to lose weight) in lidded bowls or something and decide that this is what you’re going to eat today, and then tomorrow, etc.
I think I was a bit vague with my explanation, so if I was, then sorry about it. I’m not good at explaining things, hehe, but hopefully you got the idea. If you restrict yourself, then you should be fine! I ended up loses 4 pounds from doing that, lol

This sounds terrible, but I’ve heard women use the little trick of every time they eat a meal, they sit naked in front of a mirror.
You don’t need to resist food to lose weight, just need to eat less and eat healthier. To eat less, try drinking a large glass of water and a banana or something about 30 minutes before you eat. When you eat, be sure you eat really really slowly and concentrate on the flavors of the food. Take time to chew everything and enjoy it. It gives your brain time to catch up with your stomach so you can realize when you’re full. Also be sure never to eat when you’re doing something else — watching tv, on the pc, whatever. When you eat, that should be the only thing you’re doing.
One thing I always had trouble with is emotional eating. Every time I feel sad I reach for candy or whatever’s handy. You need to recognize those times BEFORE you reach for something bad, and ask yourself what you’re really upset about, and what you could actually do to help/feel better about the situation (because believe me, eating only relieves it temporarily).
And lastly… just try to get in a lot of what you know is good for you. Greens, lean meat, fruits. Don’t skimp breakfast. Grazing throughout the day (instead of having only a few large heavy meals) stimulates your metabolism.

No food taste as good as skinny feels. Keep telling yourself that. When you are hungry, drink water, bloat yourself with water. Most of the time when people feel hungry, it’s really dehydration. Also, I heard that popping a few walnuts in your mouth suppresses your appetite. It triggers something in your brain that tells you, you aren’t really hungry. Try that. If you are old enough you can try the over the counter appetite suppressants too.
Yake smaller bite.. If your eating with a fork or spoon put down the fork in between bites and have a glass of water.. And yes the taste of mint also curves your hungry needs .. Also bath and body works have a a product that you can roll onto your wrists and everytime you want to eat something sweet just smell the scent it also has headache releifs and other such … Now brushing your teeth does help and the gum thing make sure you do for one that is low in calories and sodium eat bananas they help with metabolsim when you get hungry but its not a meal time chew gum drink water or think about working out or how good you will look in your bathing suit plus they say some color of plates will make you think you are eating alot more than you are.. Hope it works

Hi,
If a daily exercise program is in your plans, then I can help. If not.. ignore this answer.
Eating… You need reduce the volume of processed foods you eat by about 90%. Try to avoid any foods that list “Hydrogenated, Modified, sugar, or High fructose” if they are in the first 3 or better 5 ingredients. These 4 ingredients are fat feeders. Avoid them in the things you eat AND drink. Check ingredients of anything you drink as well, or better, just drink plain ol water!
Eat lightly 6 times a day, with the middle two times being the heaviest meals. Avoid any carbs after 6 PM. Snack on natural foods, like nuts, fruits, etc. Its very hard to over consume fruits unless you are on a low carb / high protein diet. Some Protien bars are great by the way.
To reduce bodyfat, you MUST eat to have the energy required to get your heart rate 2x (plus) your resting heart rate. This is called the Aerobic zone. Unless you keep your HR in the aerobic zone, you are only exercising, and toning muscle, but not reducing body fat which is what you want.
“How much” to eat is always the big question. Let me attempt an answer.
Take your body weight x 10. Then find 20% of this number and add it to the first answer. This is your required calorie need. This is the MINIMUM you want to eat. NONE LESS! It’s counter productive if your body goes into starvation mode. Your body wont be able to increase the metabolism rate to LOOSE WEIGHT, through cardio workouts without your minumum calorie needs.
If your working daily in the “zone”, and eating close to your required minumum , you will absolutely reduce excess body fat. It’s a mathematical certainly.
By eating 6 times a day, adding in fruits, nuts, and protein bars as snacks, you wont be so hungry. IN fact, you’ll probably think your eating too much.
But trust me – stay AWAY from those 4 BAD ingredients. They ARE the problem!

Carbs are addictive and can be disastrous to our health. The best way to break the addiction is NO carbs for 3 days. Make a huge batch of deviled eggs and eat one every time you want “something” have huge omelets for breakfast, with bacon, a lil onion, peppers, mushrooms & cheese. Pork chops for lunch. Get pork rinds and eat them with tuna salad. Steak for dinner. Make a huge sugar free cheese cake for dessert. Eat so much you won’t feel deprived of anything. By the fourth day, your addiction will be gone and you can start making healthy choices.
You will lose more body fat eating protein and fat (don’t eat protein alone) than not eating AT ALL. To lose weight fast eat all you want but nothing but meat, eggs, healthy oils, mayo, butter and half an avocado a day (you’ll need added potassium). Keep the calories high and the fat percentage high, at least 65% of calories. Adding in green vegetables & some cheese will continue weight loss but at a slower pace.
If you starve yourself by lowering calories lower than are needed for the body to function, your body will freak out and will want to store every ounce in case it doesn’t get nourished again. You need to give it adequate nourishment so it doesn’t slow your metabolism down to adjust for lower calories.
Simple carbohydrates (sugar, flour, bread, cereal, pasta, potatoes, rice) triggers insulin which can store the calories you eat into fat. The more protein you eat the more the fat burning hormone glucagon is released. The more carbohydrate you eat the more the fat storage hormone insulin is released..
High insulin levels unbalance other hormones. Controlling your insulin level will balance out other hormones & allow human growth hormone (HGH) to be produced naturally so you will gain lean muscle even without exercise. Any exercise will greatly increase your muscle mass with high HGH levels.
Dr.Atkins was a cardiologist, low carb was a health plan easier sold as a “diet” Read any of his books for easily understandable science. Lutz “Life without Bread” & Taubes “Good calorie, bad calorie” are excellent books that dispel all the nutrition myths.
Reducing body fat & increasing muscle mass will have you in awesome shape in no time. Good luck!

One word: DISCIPLINE.
When you see something you want to eat, convince yourself NOT to eat it. Stay strong. Just don’t give into your urges. It’s tough, I know, I’ve been there too. But after a few weeks on a healthy and balanced diet without sweets, you’ll feel much better about yourself and you’ll be able to stick with it. You just have to resist the temptations, as hard as it sounds, it’s possible. There’s no other secrets to it, it’s just discipline.
Samantha on July 4th, 2009 at 5:19 am
don’t keep so much of it so close at hand. In your dorm/apartment/house/residence, don’t have so much tempting food around. also, when you go to the grocery store be sure to bring a list. stick to that list and don’t stray to buy other on the spot temptations. when you are out and about with friends at resteraunts, opt to split a meal. there won’t be as much food to overindulge in so you can help keep quantity down.
Eat better foods. =]
And make sure your separating actually being hungry from just being bored. If your bored and get food cravings, do something to distract yourself from the craving. If you CANNOT take it at all, grab an apple or a banana or something. I used to snack on cheezits all the time because I craved them alot, but I’m eating more apples and now that I’ve gotten used to the taste and liked it for a while I crave more apples. So get your taste buds used to healthy food and it might help. =D
Good luck!

Temptations may be strong,I know, I’m going through the same thing, but your will power has to be stronger then the temptations. I know that this sounds like a classic responce but I’m very serious. You have to really want to loose weight and keep it off. I read the book lighten up. It’s a great book with alot of helpful tips.
-have a goal and make sure that your keeping up with it
- Eat healthier foods period, get the temptations out of your view
- If you have to eat out look online for fast food calorie menu’s or ask for them
- Blot your pizza
-Drink water before meals
Hope I helped

you don’t have to resist all foods just make better choices baked over fried ones don’t eat sugar treats and desserts after every meal, drinks water or black coffee. and get active! diet is just one step you need to exercise too. you dont have to do crap loads of cardio just3-4 times a week at20-30 minutes then weight trainning, i was allowed a few pecies of dark chocolate every few hours just to stave off the sweet tooth..and eat food every 2-3 hours 3meal 3 snacks and if your up longer than normal make sure to eat

Hoodia? Caffiene? Those are the only supplements I know of. Otherwise, you will have to use self control, which can be hard. The other option is substituting what you are craving for something with a lower calorie count. When you want to eat a dessert, eat fruit instead. When you want a steak, eat grilled chicken instead. When you want to eat ice cream, eat frozen yogurt or a yogurt instead. Instead of eating salad with dressing, try using cottage cheese. Ect. Ect.

To lose weight you dont only have to resist bad foods but you need to work out. Its a simple equation of burn more calories then you eat. To answer your question, you just need to fill your life with things to do. Instead of eating when your stressed go on a walk. Go to the movies or the mall. Just think about something other than food. Instead of eating potatoe chips eat an apple or celery with peanut butter. Have a healthy snack! I hope those tips help!
cr on July 5th, 2009 at 2:20 am
i’ll assume you mean unhealthy food and not all food.
i’ve always found that the moment you try to deny yourself something you want it more. you could try an eat this not that approach. instead of chips baked whole wheat crackers, instead of ice cream yogurt, instead of a big turkey club sandwich a wrap full of raw veggies and strips of lean meat. and/or you could allow yourself indulgences in small amounts. if you really want chocolate have some, just make it one or two squares of hershey’s instead of a whole bar.
it would also be helpful to stock your cupboards with good food and get rid of all the junk food.
drink lots of water. our bodies often mistake thirst for hunger. when you feel a hunger twinge drink a glass of water and wait a few. if you are still hungry get some food.
PJ on July 5th, 2009 at 3:41 am
Get baby carrots, celery sticks, etc. and put those in the fridge – eat them when you are hungry. But also eat regular meals with plenty of protein and fiber – that will help you feel full longer. You can eat a whole bag of baby carrots and it’s only about 100 calories. A lot of crunching for the calories you get.
man that’s a complex question. I have struggled on and off with that for years..in the last two years tho i have come to a place were i no longer have intense cravings and binges for food…both of which Intimately lead to Weight gain. Basically what started happening after, trust me, i have tried EVERY single diet or fad or suppressant or herbal this and that…i just started eating a regular balanced diet and did regular exercise. I know seems so very simple but it is the only way i have been consistent.
Obviously looking into some of the food i was eating..like soda pop..probably one of the leading cause of obesity..total empty calories. and making some healthier choices. Whole grains, fruit , vegetables and also eating sweets and Chocolate ETC
i find the more i focus on restricting my diet the more i binge. The more i work on being healthy and working out the more im inspired to eat good and not feel guilty when i want certain things.
Another thing to remember is quick weigh loss usually eventually comes back on…true weight loss takes time..like give yourself 3months of being consist ant. I know that seems like forever but TRUST me it will pay off when your not spending the whole of your life trying new diets and beating yourself up when you can stick to them.
there are not realistic!
anyway hope that gave you some in site!
cheers

Eat more protein and fiber when you do eat. This tells the body its full and keeps it that way.
You won’t be tempted to eat until it really is time to eat.
Keep food out of sight. Don’t surround yourself with bad food.
Whenever you’re hungry, drink a glass of water instaed and wait 15 minutes. Then eat if you’re still hungry. (often you are only just thirsty).
Jen on July 5th, 2009 at 2:26 pm
Eat less, more frequently. Eat four to six small meals a day, with breakfast being your largest and dinner being your smallest. Eat the majority of your calories early in the day. Avoid sodas and junk foods. With eating four to six small meals a day, I doubt you’ll want extra food!
sleddog on July 5th, 2009 at 2:36 pm
this is a very tricky question. the temptation of food can be triggered with just a sniff of some that doesn’t even have to be food. so stay away from fast food places, keep a low fat candy bar with you so that if your tummy does start thinking for you, you can eat with out eating the bad stuff.
furlthem on July 5th, 2009 at 7:55 pm
You don’t. Restriction leads to bingeing. Bingeing leads to guilt, leading to more restriction&temptation.
In the weight loss book French Women Dont Get Fat, a primary reason for staying thin is because they dont restrict. They simply eat a smaller portion of what they want.
Everything is good in moderation.
l2onaldi on July 5th, 2009 at 11:24 pm
You need to eat healthy, drink water and get exercise, being active helps your metabolism and keeps your body in a better shape, and you, in a better mood. Get out there and have some fun, doing something with friends is always the best. Have someone there for you to “watch” you, they can remind you and help keep you on the right track, good luck.

SAME problem
get sum gum it helps me SO much i really just have the munchies and its really hard for me to stop eating when ive started. when friends are over or when i go to a friends house i am REALLY shy. i NEVER ask for a snack when im at friends houses so i dont eat near as much. when friends are over i dont eat because i feel embarresed that im eating so much. surround yourself with friends!
JC on July 6th, 2009 at 5:43 am
Drink tons of water – it’ll fill you up a bit so that you don’t over-eat when you have meals and are less tempted to snack.
Also, try making healthy snacks more accessible than the unhealthy ones. Much easier to reach in your desk for some celery or bagel chips than walk all the way down the hall and pay $.65 for some Ruffles.

Don’t resist food, you need it. Just eat sensible portions and get enough exercise. That’s the secret. Crash dieting can destroy your metabolism and actually make you gain weight so don’t starve yourself. Exercise, trust me.
Always have a bottle of water with you, and when possible carry carrots and pea pods. When ever you are about to eat food when you are not really hungry drink water and eat carrots.
tahitant on July 7th, 2009 at 12:16 am
When you feel hungry or want food, chug glasses of water until you feel a) full or b) sick. Trust me, it works. If you drink a lot of water until your stomach is full, you won’t want food.

you slim down to 3 meals a day, no desserts, and if you cannot resist, then you should stop buying junk and bad foods. Toss out all of the stuff that you have that is bad for you.
Get SHAPE or ACTIVIA yoghurts, things like that fill you up and taste delicious.
Or you could always suck on a bolied sweet?
Don’t resist ALL food there are healthy goodies out there like:
Nutrigrain
Fruit and veggies
Slimfast
Anytime the topic
of discussion in my blogs, articles or newsletters has turned to my own
personal grocery shopping list, there has always been a spike in interest.
The phrase, "negative
calorie food", as highlighted in negative calorie diet programs and
books, usually refers to foods that allegedly require more energy to digest
than they contain. Since the process of digestion requires the use of
calories for energy, sometimes the net amount of metabolizable energy
available from a food is less than the gross number of calories contained
in the food.
By now, most people
realize that adding lean muscle mass to your body does wonders for your
metabolism and fat loss, as well as a host of other benefits that allow
you to live out your life as healthy as possible.
In order to reap the
benefits from the intense exercise I recommend to my Fat Burning Furnace
students, you must get adequate rest. I cant stress this fact enough.
In fact, rest is just as important, if not more important that the actual
exercise.
Imagine a really hot guy’s voice getting louder and louder, and he’s telling you to not-eat the food.

i’ve always found that the moment you try to deny yourself something you want it more. you could try an eat this not that approach. instead of chips baked whole wheat crackers, instead of ice cream yogurt, instead of a big turkey club sandwich a wrap full of raw veggies and strips of lean meat. and/or you could allow yourself indulgences in small amounts. if you really want chocolate have some, just make it one or two squares of hershey’s instead of a whole bar.
it would also be helpful to stock your cupboards with good food and get rid of all the junk food.
drink lots of water. our bodies often mistake thirst for hunger. when you feel a hunger twinge drink a glass of water and wait a few. if you are still hungry get some food.
Eat less, more frequently. Eat four to six small meals a day, with breakfast being your largest and dinner being your smallest. Eat the majority of your calories early in the day. Avoid sodas and junk foods. With eating four to six small meals a day, I doubt you’ll want extra food!
this is a very tricky question. the temptation of food can be triggered with just a sniff of some that doesn’t even have to be food. so stay away from fast food places, keep a low fat candy bar with you so that if your tummy does start thinking for you, you can eat with out eating the bad stuff.
Drink tons of water – it’ll fill you up a bit so that you don’t over-eat when you have meals and are less tempted to snack.
Also, try making healthy snacks more accessible than the unhealthy ones. Much easier to reach in your desk for some celery or bagel chips than walk all the way down the hall and pay $.65 for some Ruffles.
i lost 100 pounds just off stop eating junk food, its all in the mind, u have to tell urself that this isnt gonna get me to my goal, just think ahead of time like if i eat this bag of chips i know i will pack on pounds, wat inspired me was i wanted to look like all the muscler guys at the gym so that how i did it, just gotta believe in urself
Slimfast
